MALLORCA TRIATHLON TRAINING CAMP 2027
10–17 April 2027 | Port de Pollença, Mallorca
Train. Learn. Ride some incredible roads. And have a bloody good week doing it.
A week of swim, bike and run training in Mallorca, with coached sessions, ride options, open-water skills, plenty of time to recover — and a group of people to share the whole experience with.
This isn’t about spending seven days smashing yourself into the ground.
It’s about getting away from everyday life, having the time and space to train, taking on some brilliant challenges and coming home more confident, with new skills, some brilliant training in the bank and a few more stories to tell.
And probably some tired legs. 😂
A training camp — without having to train exactly like everyone else
One of the things I’ve learnt from previous Tribirdsport camps is that putting everybody on exactly the same ride doesn’t necessarily make for the best week.
Athletes arrive with different experience, fitness, confidence and goals.
So for 2027, there will be different ride options across the week, allowing you to choose challenges appropriate to you.
For more experienced riders, there will be opportunities to take on some of Mallorca’s iconic cycling routes, potentially including Sa Calobra, the Mallorca 70.3 route and the Lighthouse ride.
I’m also recceing additional routes before camp so we can offer different options across the week rather than forcing every athlete onto the same ride.
You won’t need to be the fastest rider in the group.
But you will need enough cycling fitness and bike-handling ability to ride safely in Mallorca and enjoy several days of riding during the week.
We’ll give you guidance before camp so you know what to expect and how to prepare.
More than a cycling camp
Cycling is a big part of the week — because, well… Mallorca. 🚴♀️
But this is a triathlon training camp.
Swimming
I’ve booked plenty of access to the hotel’s 25m pool, and we’ll have at least three coached pool sessions during the week, potentially more depending on the final itinerary.
You’ll also have your swimming filmed and I’ll sit down with you afterwards to talk through what I can see, helping you understand the areas of your stroke most worth working on.
Outside our coached sessions, you can use the training pool independently for €1 per swim.
We’ll also have a coached open-water session, with more time dedicated to it in 2027 so we can properly work on the skills you need away from the pool.
That might include sighting, swimming straight, turning, wetsuit confidence and putting everything together in a more realistic open-water environment.
Running
Running forms a smaller part of the week because we’re already asking quite a lot from your legs on the bike.
There will be opportunities for brick runs, and I’m looking at including a longer run and an optional track session within the week.
The exact schedule will depend on the final itinerary and how the training fits together.
Camp Triathlon & Aquabike
Towards the end of the week, we’ll bring everything together with our own Tribirdsport event.
You’ll have the option of completing a triathlon or aquabike, so you can choose the format that suits you.
And yes.
There will be medals. 🏅😂
Training hard doesn’t mean filling every minute
Something else we learnt from the last camp was just how valuable the downtime became.
Yes, it allowed everyone to recover between sessions.
But it did something else too.
It gave people time to sit together, talk, laugh, get to know each other and properly connect.
Some people arrived knowing each other through Tribirdsport. Others didn’t.
By the end of the week, they’d shared rides, meals, difficult climbs, good sessions, tired legs and probably quite a lot of ridiculous conversation.
That sense of community is part of the camp too.
So I’m deliberately not filling every spare hour with another workshop, talk or compulsory activity.
There’ll be plenty of training.
There’ll also be time to recover, explore, sit by the pool, have a coffee or spend time with the people you’ve been training alongside.
Your home for the week
We’ll be staying at Hoposa Hotel & Apartments Villaconcha in Port de Pollença, a hotel particularly well set up for cyclists and triathletes.
Your accommodation is half board, with breakfast and dinner included — and having stayed there before, I can confirm that the food is bloody good. 😂
Accommodation includes studios and apartments.
Studios have twin beds, a small kitchen area, balcony and shower room with two sinks, toilet and shower. Towels, pool towels, shower gel and shampoo are provided.
Apartments also have a separate sitting room.
For training, there’s:
- A full 25m lane pool, where our coached sessions take place
- Gym
- Bike mechanic
- Bike storage/garage — bring a padlock for your bike
- Water for filling bike bottles
- Washing machines and dryers
- Outdoor pools
- Hotel restaurant for food outside the half-board buffet
Basically, it’s very easy to live like a triathlete for a week without having to organise your entire life around the logistics of being one.
Getting yourself — and your bike — to Mallorca
You’ll arrange your own flights.
We’ll nominate British Airways and easyJet flights so that athletes arrive at similar times and airport transfers can be organised around those arrivals.
You don’t necessarily have to travel on those exact flights, but if you choose another flight, you’ll need to arrive at approximately the same time as one of the designated flights if you want to use the group transfer.
I won’t be able to organise individual airport transfers around separate flight times.
Most athletes bring their own bike.
With British Airways, your bike can travel as part of your 23kg checked baggage allowance. With easyJet, bikes can be added as sports equipment with a 30kg allowance.
Alternatively, you can hire a bike in Mallorca. There’s a bike shop attached to the hotel, or you’re welcome to arrange hire elsewhere.

Is this camp for me?
You don’t need to be an elite athlete.
You don’t need to be the fastest cyclist.
And you don’t need to spend the week trying to keep up with somebody whose training history is completely different from yours.
But this is a training camp, so you’ll get far more from the week if you arrive prepared to train.
You should be comfortable riding outdoors, have safe bike-handling skills and have enough fitness to complete several days of training across the week.
If you’re unsure whether your current experience is appropriate, talk to me before booking.
I’d much rather have that conversation beforehand than have you arrive in Mallorca worrying that you’ve signed yourself up for something you’re not ready for.
